peace & hate

Here's a link to my new blog, beyapi! Head on over there! See ya!

I feel like we should tell the world more about the things we appreciate in life. It makes us more grateful of what we have right now. You don’t have to raise your alcoholic drink to them (I just fancy a vodka shot right now, heh), the mere act of sending out positive energy is enough. How about you? To who/what/where/when will you raise your glass to?

I've been loving Spotify lately because it gives me the chance to listen to songs I wouldn't have discovered from listening to the radio. What's more is that there are a lot of indie bands that deserve more recognition!! I'm not a big playlist-maker since I get so picky about the songs and I'll spend days just to get the right songs together but I made this playlist! Wow! These are some of my favorite songs that just give me those happy vibes I need when I'm stuck in traffic (damn you, EDSA!) and when I need to feel a little loving. I hope you feel the love and the happiness too when you listen to these songs too. Enjoy!

I wish I could spend the whole day with those cats but our allergies kicked in. The 2 hours was enough for us, then.

After that lovely lunch, we went to North Edsa to have a second lunch (haha, not even sorry) at Mexicali! We had the best burrito we ever had! Even better than Army Navy, tbh. Then, we walked around before heading home since the storm clouds were rolling in.

The past weeks consisted of me staring blankly into space just thinking about anything that comes to mind. From future plans to the possibility of alien life forms. It's nice to be one with my thoughts every once in a while but sometimes it becomes too much. So I thought I'd share a few of my thoughts that I wrote down on my cellphone and on my trusty notebook. Here's a sneak peek of what's in my head!

Save your money. Pack your lunch. Don't eat when you're not hungry and be considerate of other people's money.

It's so fucking stupid and I'm trying to understand them but I am way, way past my breaking point.

I saw pictures from the Batangas outing and damn am I fat. But it's okay because I am not my body weight.

Habits: Take risks, notice breathing, smile, expressiveness, random acts of kindness...

Avoid: negativity, ignorance, anger, dishonesty

June 19. I want to get multiple ear piercings + get dark brown hair!

Places in the US with a good science community: Boulder in Colorado, Durham in N. Carolina, Bethesda in Maryland, SF and Bay Area

I don't know what to write but I know that I have to. I just want to be free, whatever that even means. Why can't life be like a video game? When you want to start over, you can just select "New Game" until you finally get your shit together.

Goal: Learn the common phrases of the language of the country I'll be going to!!

Tumblr is so full of these bullet journals. Do I need a bullet journal? Hassle.

Dream: Stealing a key from Cersei. Me and companion being wanted by the police. Other companions went missing. Prison with wrestling class and a baby assistant. Ripping important documents and then hiding them under the prison bed.

Here's a bunch of things that have been bugging me lately...

• the chances i get everyday to improve
• the love i receive from those that give love
• education and how important it is
• AND learning whether it be from a book, a video game (YES) or from pure experience
• nourishing my body and taking care of it
• taking care of my brain and mental health
• not letting social anxiety get the best of me
• not caring about what other people think
• exuding positivity and giving love
• how i don't have to prove anything to anyone
• adventure and future travels!!
• creating... anything! like posts for this neglected blog
• how everything will be okay

For day 2 of our trip, we spent a few moments at the hotel garden to appreciate the nice weather and the cute animals living their day to day life of entertaining the visitors. (It can be quite sad when you put yourself in their.. shoes?) The koi fish pond was definitely impressive due to the sizes of the fish in there. Fish are not my fave animals but they looked really beautiful with their colors and grace. We left the hotel mid-morning and drove away from the busy city to the middle of nowhere. Middle of nowhere turns out to be called the Valley of Fire, a Nevada state park. Our trips to Vegas seem to always include visiting a park with interesting rock formations. (Last time we went to Red Rock) The park involves routes for scenic drives as well as for trekkers. Being the less adventurous family that we are, we just opted for the scenic drive stopping at spots for the obligatory picture taking. Valley of Fire was bigger than Red Rock and I only knew that when I realized that we just spent the whole day there. Every spot has a different kind of rock formation molded by erosion way before history started. Thinking about it while taking photos and being amazed by everything I saw there made the experience 100 percent better. It was clearly a place made beautiful by time.

Climbing on the rocks and walking on really fine sand made me feel adventurous and fun but after a few hours, I quickly became tired. It turned out that the whole family was already tired when afternoon came. Good thing was we covered almost the whole park meaning we made the most out of the visit. The drive back to Las Vegas was relaxing in a sense that we were all silent and just reflecting on how beautiful everything around us was. I was convinced that I was (and still am) in love with the desert, how mysterious it is and all the stories it has.

I'm just gonna let these pictures do the talking now. If you want more talking, visit the place when you go on vacation in Las Vegas. The entrance fee is really cheap plus it's really worth your whole day!

P.S. Here's how comfortable I was with the rocks and the desert.

Even before arriving in the States, my brother already planned this whole Las Vegas trip which was why after a day of unpacking and settling down, we drove right away up to this city that never ever sleeps. We took a relaxed drive at The Strip while it was still in the afternoon to avoid the heavy traffic and then checked in at The Flamingo. Our room was at the highest floor and had a giant window with a wonderful view. Who knew it was one of their cheapest rooms?? After dinner, we headed to Fremont to have a stroll around. I really like this street since it has these beautiful lights and performers plus a giant screen for a ceiling. It's just full of life and fun everywhere here! We were pretty tired from travelling and  walking (well, I was) so we just spent the rest of the night chilling and resting in our room. Let me just say that even though we just had a Vegas trip a year before, I still missed the hustle and bustle of this city.
